Chinese Character Art (Hanzi 汉字)

I enjoy learning languages, especially Mandarin Chinese because the characters are beautiful. Each character is made of radicals. Each radical has a meaning by itself, but when a group of them are placed together to make a character, they create a new word. Imagine the radicals as Lego blocks. You stick them together, rearrange then, take some away, add some more... until you have a new Chinese character. I can guess the meaning of a character if I know the radicals its made from.

Once you understand this, writing simplified Chinese characters is much easier. I practise writing Chinese by making it into patterns. They are random words, not sentences. Please see my Hanzi art bellow.

(I can also write in Japanese and Korean, so you might see some Kanji, Hiragana and Hangeul mixed in.)

Thank you
